Kauai was the island we wished since we plan our trip to Hawaii, the oldest of the major islands, the “Green Island.”It was created by a massive volcano extinct for 6 million years.
After a 5 days in Maui, we decided to spend the rest of our time in Hawaii at Kauai.
We have a short flight from Maui (aprox 30min) and landed at the Lihue Airport. A pouring rain blessed us as we landed.
Some friends recommended us to rent a convertible car in order to enjoy the nature to the fullest, so we did. We got a Mustang… and a few hours later we had to return it because it didn’t start. An hour later we got a Chevrolet Camaro delivered! – fair enough…. But we didn’t thought about the boards… it’s not the best car if you like to carry stuff around like us.
We drove about 30 min to Poipu, where our hotel was located… and as we got ther,e we forgot all the car hassle. It was paradise: the vegetation, the rainbow after the rain, perfect tunnels, blue water, and white sand. All we needed.
Poipu is a great coast at south Kauai, with several beaches, great snorkeling points with shelter waters, and also a great breakpoints for surfers.
Best,
