One of the most famous roads in AK, is the Seward Highway, the road across the Kenai Peninsula. On our way to Seward our first stop was Portage, at mile 78.9.
As you drive along Portage Creek through this valley framed by mountains and glaciers, you’ll pass a number of campgrounds an trails.
We admired icebergs and avalanches from the road and trails, though the glacier itself has receded out of sight. After 2 hours of being around we decided to continue our way south… I bet this place is paradise in summer days.
